What started off as a simple music concert is getting bigger and more global. The organizers must be credited

In December last year, the third edition of a yearly concert, Salem Festival 2012, saw an astounding line up of international artists such as reggae legend Alpha Blondy of Ivory Coast, combined with local big names as Mahmoud Ahmed and Alemayehu Eshete – the legendary icons of Ethiopian music, performing on a grand stage here in Addis Ababa.

As research papers indicated, cardiovascular disease became the single largest cause of death in the year 2004 when it was estimated that it had caused some 17 million deaths in our world. Sadly enough, the figure will continue to grow.
Countries of low- and middle- income class are said to be seeing an alarming and accelerating increase in rates of cardiovascular disease. According to a study made in the United States, the said disease causes most deaths in all developing regions, with the exception of Sub-Saharan Africa; in this part of the world cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in persons over 45 years of age. As regards the younger ones in Sub-Saharan Africa, HIV, AIDS, malaria and lower respiratory tact infections continue to be the leading cause.

As the author Leland Foster Wood wrote, success in marriage is much more than a matter of finding the right person. So many people are concerned merely about finding “Mr. or Ms. Right.” It never occurs to them that they themselves should also be right in view of the fact that marriage is for and made by two persons. It is true that marriage is for two and is what they make it. Two persons have to pull together if the best results are to be obtained.
