Prudent Africans understand China’s non-interference policy is no longer fine. China must listen.

In October 2012, the Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) held a China-Africa Forum in Bishoftu, 45 kms south of Addis Ababa.  The event was perhaps the first of its kind held in Ethiopia with academics, policy makers and other stakeholders from the two regions participating in a frank and open discussion about the economic, political and social relations between Africa and China.  Most of the discussions focused on the economic relationships between Africa and China.

Against the ruling party’s initial denial, the pressure of keeping ethnic balance saw Ethiopia’s PM appoint three deputy prime ministers

A long awaited cabinet reshuffle by Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn came to a surprising end yesterday Nov. 29th when the Prime Minister gave his list for approval to the ruling party dominated House of People’s Representatives.

MTN Ethiopia, a South African Telecom and ICT service provider launches its campaign “celebrate 31 on 831 with MTN Ethiopia.”

The campaign that is said to celebrate the participation of The Ethiopian Football Team for the 2012 African Cup of Nations (ACN)  that will be held in South Africa is an SMS competition that takes 5 of its winners to the tournament to watch a number of matches covering all their costs.
