Muktar Kedir elected as President of Oromia regional state

The 10^th Plenary Session of the Council of the Oromia Regional State elected Muktar Kedir as President of the Oromia Regional State. The two day session of the council was held at Adama Aba Gada Hall, 100 km South of Addis Ababa.

Muktar Kedir is serving as the Civil Service Cluster Coordinator with the rank of deputy Prime Minister and is currently serving as Chairman of the Oromo People’s Democratic Organization (OPDO).

Tanzania to dispatch peacekeeping troops in South Sudan

Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Bernard Membe said on Thursday March 27 that Tanzania was keen and ready to send Tanzania People’s Defense Force (TPDF) troops to South Sudan to promote peace and stability and support peace- building efforts at the behest of the United Nations.
