A new study by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) has for the first time, brought to the fore a serious discussion on the specific plight of African Small Island Development States, as they face rising sea levels, and dwindling economic activities in the face of climate change, according to officials of the African Climate Policy Center (ACPC).
The Yabelo-Mega road that connects Ethiopia and Kenya has been inaugurated and is open for traffic.
Speaking at the inauguration, Ethiopian Minister for Transport, Workneh Gebeyhu, said the road is one of several many projects underway in the country aimed at linking Ethiopia with its neighbors through infrastructure.
